Pink Carpet Event
The 2nd annual Pink Carpet Event just wrapped up. We are often asked the question, “What exactly is The Pink Carpet Event?”….
The answer (in a brief) is below:
Living in Los Angeles opened Sara Goldfine’s eyes to some pretty amazing charity events. She noticed there were many different elements she enjoyed, yet there was always a lull in the event that deteriorated people from staying for the whole evening. She had always thought of putting together a charity event that captured all of the right elements, but no charity had really hit home for her…
Once moving back to Minnesota from Los Angeles Sara’s sister, Elly was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the young age of 38. She immediately underwent invasive surgery followed by a series of intense chemotherapy treatments. The treatments not only attacked the cancer cells, they also infringed upon her confidence and femininity.
In 2012, Sara approached Crave with the idea of holding an annual charity event for Breast Cancer survivors. She wanted to create a unique event that captured elements from the charity events she had attended in Los Angeles, but here in the Twin Cities. An event that focused on enjoying the moment with those around you, a celebration of life for the community and countless Breast Cancer survivors.
Community support epitomizes what The Pink Carpet Event is all about. In association with the Susan G. Komen Minnesota Affiliate, this event not only raises funds and awareness for the disease, it allows us to celebrate the countless men and women who are affected by Breast Cancer; a constant reminder of the importance of living life to the fullest. The inaugural event took place at Crave Downtown in May of 2012, it was a huge success for Susan G Komen for a Cure.
This year the event took place at Muse Event Center in the North Loop area of Minneapolis, MN.
